Unadopted, Durandal style

Paul turned up at 7am so went and had breakfast with him and stuff.

Just spent the last 10 minutes or so changing the old Unadopted placeholder to this one.

I'm quite impressed with the end result. Anyone who's played any Marathon games will know what I'm on about.

(Marathon was made in the early 1990's by Bungie, the company that made Halo... Halo was set about 50 years before the events of Marathon. More on that at the Bungie.org fansite.)

What text can't be seen?

Your screenshot shows me everything that's actually on the site...

It's 'dark' text on black background, a bit hard to read.

But then it could be my screen brightness...

Possibly - it was quite readable in the screenshot you sent.

So, is Halo 2 related to Marathon then? I remember playing Marathon quite some time ago on the Mac. Wasn't it one of the first (if not the first?) FPS to incorporate dual-wielding?

Halo and Halo 2 are very closely related. http://qube.netninja.com/beewiki/HaloMarathon is a good reference. Read up on Marathon and Halo, and then the relations.

I think you may be right on the dual-wielding front, too.

I finished Halo on the X-Box, but Halo 2 doesn't appeal to me that much. From what I heard, the story was a bit of a cop out? I know that you play as a Covenant Inquisitor for the bulk of it.

For about half of it. You do a chapter as Master Chief, then as a disgraced Covenant Elite, and then again as MC, then the Elite, and so on. It actually works out quite well. Can't wait to get home and see what it's like on Xbox Live with this. I can't get online here at Uni due to the firewall.

So, does the story tie back in to the original story in Halo? And, more importantly, do you ever get to see Master Chief without his helmet on?

The story doesn't tie in, Bungie claims they're seperate "universes", but they reference each other way too much. The Marathon logo is used in 2340987234 places in Halo.

And in Halo 2, you *ALMOST* see Master Chief (aka Spartan 117) without his helmet, but its very sneakily cut so that you don't.

So, does the story in Halo 2 tie in to the story in Halo at all?

Very much so. I don't want to post too much in the way of spoilers, but it definately picks up from where Halo left off.

Cool. I might pick up another X-Box and get H2 then, or I might wait for it on the PC. Decisions, decisions ;)
